Product Overview
World Percussion – Oddities is an experimental percussion instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt, recorded using real-world objects and re-amped at a world-class scoring stage.
Performed by Angela Grima, the library explores unconventional sound sources including household appliances, toilets, baths, kitchen sinks, and other found objects used as percussion instruments. These performances were re-amped and recorded in the same scoring stage as the rest of the World Percussion Series, giving the sounds weight, depth, and cinematic scale.

Performance and Dynamics
World Percussion – Oddities uses a traditional sampling approach centered on real performance and dynamic response. Each object is captured through a variety of strikes, impacts, and playing styles, preserving natural variation and raw character during play.
Instrument Collection
The library includes a selection of unconventional percussion sources, such as:
- Household appliances
- Toilets
- Baths
- Kitchen sinks
- Assorted found objects
Each source is treated as a playable percussion instrument, sampled to retain its unique tone, resonance, and response.
Workflow
World Percussion – Oddities is designed for performance-based sequencing and creative experimentation. Playable instruments encourage exploration, while MIDI grooves provide a fast way to build rhythmic ideas using unconventional sound sources.
Virtual Stage and Microphone Control
A virtual stage allows control over microphone perspective, giving flexibility from close and intimate sound to wider, cinematic room presence. A traditional mixer view is also available, allowing users to choose the approach that best suits their mixing workflow.
Kontakt Player Compatibility
World Percussion – Oddities runs in the free Native Instruments Kontakt Player and does not require a full Kontakt license. NKS support is included for compatible hardware and software environments.
